Sometimes a customer has started off really angry or frustrated and we're able to turn it around into a positive experience where the customer is happy and their faith is restored.

I'm a customer service representative for Cuckoo. It involves helping customers everyday, making sure that their broadband is up and working. And if there's an issue we try and fix it as quickly as possible. 

The thing I enjoy most about my role is the feeling you get when you've have a long call with a customer and you can sort everything out for them. Sometimes a customer has started off really angry or frustrated and we're able to turn it around into a positive experience where the customer is happy and their faith is restored.

Well, when you see it you'll know what it is, especially if your fan. It's a replica Eurovision trophy!

It just signifies something I've watched for years, something I've connected with for years, just because of the inclusivity of the whole event. It brings back loads of memories of watching it with friends and family. 

Music is my life pretty much. I used to sing in school productions.

What is the worst haircut you've ever had?

I once died my hair blue, it was a really deep midnight blue. But my hair started to get really long and I look like an Elvis impersonator because of hair dark and how long it got. 

If I had to pick one it would be a bearded dragon. A Youtuber I watch - a lot of - he had a bearded dragon called Steeve. It was always interesting watching the way the eat and the way they walk around. It's really cool to look at.

I wanted my nickname to be Dee, so that people could say 'Hi, Dee'.

Up next is Heidi (or Dee, as she once wanted to be called), our Offers Manager. 

 I'm the Offers Manager at Cuckoo and sit in the Commercial team, part of my role involves constantly reviewing the market and working up proposals to create a fair offering for our customers. 

What I love most about my job is that I get to work with a lot of different teams, bringing everyone together to find the right solution for our customers.

To represent me, I’ve brought some coffee cups along with a baby toy because, in my free time, I arrange meetups for mums (and dads if they like) to come together and meet like-minded people.

And when you're not bringing people together, what's your perfect holiday destination?

I do love Dubai, sunshine whenever you want to go. Food. Drink. Beach. You can’t go wrong.

Finally, did you have any childhood nicknames?

I didn’t. But I wanted one. So I made up one for myself. I don’t know if that’s a cool thing to do or not, but, it was Dee. I used to like the fact that people could say “Hi Dee”. Now looking back it probably wasn’t cool.

The Good Eggs interview - Heidi

I actually think they'll look like us...I mean a better version of us. A bit more prettier. I don't know more like Tom Cruise!

I look after all of Field Sales and Telesales operations here at Cuckoo.  My role is to strategically plan, motivate and engage our sales teams to ensure they smash their sales targets - all this whilst delivering best in class sales experience to our customers. 

What I love the most is about the role is how we train and develop our sales team - we never expect them to be the best sales person on day one, we expect them to be open to developing their skills to reaching their potential through our Sales Academy.

I've bought in some mint tea and baklava, it's relevant to my culture, we have lots of it. And it's delicious 😋

What's the fastest animal you could outrun?

A dog. They're not that fast I think I could outrun a a dog. 

I definitely think I could outrun a sausage dog, they've got little legs haven't they?

Our 2021 Cuckoo Christmas party in Manchester. We raced go-karts and, funnily enough, it was my first time meeting a lot of them. It made for a pretty great icebreaker before we tucked into a festive meal afterwards! Great fun all round.

Who’s job at Cuckoo would you like to try out for 24 hours? 

Probably Tommy Toner, our Chief Experience Officer. I’d love the opportunity to spend all day thinking about what our customers want and need, and how to turn it into an exciting customer experience. He's also an army reservist – something I’ve always wanted to do. Who wouldn’t love to jump out of planes for free (so long as there’s a parachute)?! 

Any time spent with our Cuckoo creative team. I know I’ll have finished my cup of coffee before we even get to the topic at hand (en route, we’ll discuss everything from cycling gear to moustaches, as well as the best way to boil potatoes). They’re the perfect combination of hilarious and are extremely skilled at what they do. 

There's a chocolate drink powder I used to have a lot when I was younger called Milo. But if you take the powder and add it to plain boiled rice, you have an incredible dessert. Heard it here first. 

I've found myself googling the Philippine Eagle recently (because, you know). They're absolutely huuuuuge, but also very cute. Not sure if I would pet one or just run away. Only one way to find out... 

Anything cool you've done we don't know about? 

I started a vegan food business back when I was at Uni, called Naked Monkey.
 It was at the end of my 3rd year, when I had to have a business idea to do an MSc in Business Creation and Entrepreneurship. 

A friend and I opened NM as an on-campus vegan food stall, which meant getting up early (well, for Uni students) to cook and serve meals at lunchtime. 

As the stall wasn't easy to scale, we decided to make Buddha bowls instead and sold them through on-campus shops and a local city cafe. We didn't become millionaires but it was a lot of fun.

What I love most about my job is giving my team the freedom of concern. Because when you have no concerns, you will always present your best self.

Up next is Sam, one of our Customer Care Supervisors

I’m one of the supervisor for the Cuckoo Customer Service team. My role is to ensure we deliver the best service for our customers and that the contact center is running as smoothly as possible. However, my main role is telling top-quality dad jokes to lift the staff's morale on a daily basis.

What I love most about my job is giving my team the freedom of concern. Because when you have no concerns, you will always present your best self. Seeing them grow from day-one agents to Team Leaders/trainers is what I come in to work for.

If my house on fire this is the one (and only) item I would save. 

Reading comics as a child helped me conquered my dyslexia, Gorillaz are my favourite band, and they are also my girlfriend's favourite band - which is how we met. 

So, this item represents my past, present and future; and the three main loves in my live. Comics, Gorillaz, and my girlfriend...not necessarily in that order.

I would choose a Penguin as an exotic pet because they’re so cute! 

🎣 We can go fishing together, and collect rocks to my 80s playlist. Plus, they can slide on their bellies to the kitchen to get me snacks and penguin bars!

Well, I'm bald now. But back in my college days I had shoulder length hair until one day I was waiting at a bus stop with a girlfriend and an old man mistook us for two ladies. Since that day I've kept it short

I've always been a fan of traditional churches.

My role is to work out what products we should sell, what's going to work well for our customers and how we should deliver them [our products]. 

The diversity of work in Product Management is what I enjoy most, from improving our current offerings right up to planning and prototyping brand new ones...watch this space

The item I've bought is my first book, Pat the Puffling (I say first because I'm hoping there will be another one). 

It was inspired by my dad, who used to write short stories for adults and kids, and read them on the radio. I created this with a friend of mine who is a fantastically talented illustrator.
